About Nick Hunter Roberts
Nick Hunter Roberts serves as the Director of Marketing & Communications for Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, an international fisheries conservation organization headquartered in Miami, Florida. He is also the Editor of Bonefish & Tarpon Journal and a freelance writer covering travel, fly fishing, and conservation.
Born in Palo Alto, California, Nick grew up in North Carolina, where he earned a BA in English with high honors from Duke University and an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he served as the Fiction Editor of the literary journal, Ecotone. Before joining the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust staff in 2016, Nick spent more than seven years working as a fly-fishing guide and freelance writer in Asheville, North Carolina.
Nick has had the opportunity to fish throughout the United States and in many of the world’s top fly fishing destinations, including Argentina, Chile, the Bahamas, Belize, and Italy. He has written for Garden & Gun, Field & Stream, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Sport Fishing, Salt Water Sportsman, The Drake, American Angler, Fly Rod & Reel, Bonefish & Tarpon Journal, Duke Magazine, Blue Ridge Outdoors, Fly Fish America, and Eastern Fly Fishing. His writing has also appeared online at Patagonia, Orvis, Simms, and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. Nick’s fiction and poetry have been published in Talking River Review and the Ecozoic Reader. His photography has appeared in Garden & Gun online, Forbes online, Field & Stream, Fly Rod & Reel, and elsewhere.
Nick is based in Ridgway, Colorado.
